Delete your account

You can delete your Food Secret account at any time, directly from inside the App. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Food Secret is operated by D23 Ventures Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus (registration number HE 489062).

1. Delete from inside the App

1. Open the Food Secret app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the Settings tab.
3. Tap Account.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Confirm by re-entering your password or signing in again to verify it is really you.
6. Tap Delete on the confirmation screen.

That’s it. Your account and personal data are removed from our live systems immediately.

2. Alternative: request deletion by email

If you can’t access the App, email info@food-secret.com from the email address associated with your Food Secret account and write “Account Deletion Request” in the subject line. We will verify your identity before processing the request and respond within thirty (30) days.

3. What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes all of the following from our live systems:

• Your email address, display name, and user identifier.
• Your body stats (sex, age, height, weight, activity level, goal).
• Your food log entries — dish names, calories, macros, portions, timestamps, notes.
• Meal photos you have uploaded.
• Weight logs and water-intake logs.
• Barcode scan history.
• Favorited foods and dishes.
• Feedback you have submitted from inside the App.

4. What may be retained, and why

• Encrypted backups — copies of your data may remain in encrypted database backups for up to thirty (30) days after deletion, after which they are automatically purged.
• Crash and performance data — pseudonymous diagnostic data already sent to Sentry is automatically deleted by Sentry within ninety (90) days. We cannot tie it back to you once your account is deleted.
• Purchase records — we keep transaction records for as long as required by Cyprus tax and accounting law (typically six to ten years). These records do not contain food-log or HealthKit data.
• Aggregated or anonymised data — statistics that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely.
• Support correspondence — emails you have previously sent to us may be retained for up to two (2) years.

5. Things to do before you delete

• Cancel your subscription if you have one. Subscriptions are managed by Apple and are not cancelled automatically when you delete your Food Secret account. See our Subscription Terms for cancellation instructions.
• Export anything you want to keep. Once your account is deleted we cannot recover your food log, weight history, or any other data.
• Revoke Apple HealthKit access if you no longer want the App to read or write HealthKit data. Go to the iOS Settings app → Health → Data Access & Devices → Food Secret.
